How to Get On With Everyone Page 3

If you want to check yourself after meeting people think

1 How was the energy/atmosphere when you first met them?

2 How is the energy now? Are you more happy or buoyant than you were or less?

3 Is the result down to how you handled the meeting or the other person/people?

4 What could you have done or said to improve the situation?

5 Would you do anything differently next time?

Try to keep the energy positive and upbeat finish on a high note as you take your leave if possible.

  WHERE ARE YOU

  IN YOUR LIFE?

‘If you want to grow you must be willing to stretch.’ Unknown

We must become the change we want to see.’ Mahatma Ghandi

First of all give yourself credit for all the things you have achieved and all the things you have handled well. If there are areas you could have handled better remember you are also in a state of developing and growing and will certainly have learnt from them. Next time you will handle the situation in a better way. We are all learning all the time.

Always remember to be kind to yourself as you would be to a friend or someone else. Do you feel calm and at peace within your own body and mind. If you do you are doing well, if not work at the issues you have.

Life is a journey, we start with nothing and the more positive skills you can acquire the easier your life will be.

Do not worry about making mistakes most famous people have made several. Duncan Bannatyne started his career with a dishonourable discharge from the navy and did not have a bank account until he was 30. In 2011 his wealth was estimated at £430 million in the rich list and he has given to charity in one bequest alone more than most people earn in a lifetime.

Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor ‘because he lacked imagination and has no good ideas’. He went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland.

Other well known bankrupts include Henry Ford, Donald Trump, H.J.Heinz, founder of Heinz Foods, Peter Stringfellow and another US President. The average millionaire in the States goes bankrupt 3.5 times. They keep trying until they succeed.

As Churchill said,’ When you are going through Hell, keep going.’ The characteristic they all share is that they do not give up.

  Perseverance is the key.

  About the Author

After a successful business career, Jeanne trained as counsellor, psychotherapist and hypnotist. During her sessions she noticed how many people had the same or very similar basic issues which continually caused them difficulties in their day-to-day lives.

The understanding that most people are short of time prompted this concise and easy to read book, which covers most aspects of communication and interaction in everyday social and work situations.

The book’s aim is to help you minimise or even to totally eradicate these problem areas and, as well as being useful, it also aims to make you smile!
